Visual Webparts Can't Be Sandboxed
Monday's grand snark-hunt yak-shavery was prompted by the Visual Webpart option in Visual Studio 2010 being disabled, as I imagined - incorrectly! - that the disabling was accidental or perhaps a curiosity relating to our terrible problems with account management.
Apparently, it is on purpose. You are not surprised either, please desist in your pearl-clutching, it is unbecoming.
Like most Sharepoint mishaps, there is a workaround, as discovered by Wictor WliƩn, which involves skulduggery but does mean you can send the solution out to something as a nice parcel which can be disabled.
I hear Unix users take these things for granted, ungrateful sods.
